Debate for Peace- 9 encounters between October and December 2025

 

October 9th and October 12th

We had our annual Sukkat Shalom encounters, with over 50 participants, including Jewish and Arab high school and university students, as well as Muslim and Bahai leaders, and representatives from the embassies of Taiwan, Kazakhstan, Finland, Kosovo, and Ireland. The students got to explain about the holiday as well as ask questions, and all of the participants wrote blessings of peace in a variety of languages to hang in the Sukkah.

 

October 21st

We participated in Tikvamun XII, one of the oldest Model UN conferences in Israel, with over 150 students from over 15 schools around Israel competing in five committees discussing genetically modified animals; the war in Yemen, military coups in the Sahel, education reform, and a World War III crisis. After a full day of debating, the students presented their best solutions and awards were distributed.

 

November 21st

12 students from all over Israel came to Tel Aviv to participate in the "Humanity's Future simulation on AI safety", run by two of our alumni, Amit and Michael, and hosted at the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv. It was an exciting day of adventurous learning for the students, as they explored the possibilities and risks of AI use and its influence on humanity.

 

Nov. 27-30th

For the first we had a delegation of 6 Jewish, Christian and Muslim students compete at YaleMUN Dubai. The students competed in both traditional committees as well as special committees like the House of Wisdom (Bet AlHikma) modeled after the Abbasid center of learning. After three days of high level competition, Ethan and Itamar received awards at the closing ceremony. November 29th

We had a zoom discussion with a female imam based in the Netherlands, Salima El Musalima, who discussed her journey as a feminist, progressive religious leader within a European Muslim community.

 

December 4th

We held an encounter at the Polish cultural institute, with 15 students and teachers from all over Israel, where we discussed the role of the Cultural Institute in advancing cultural bridges, as well as Polish-Jewish history and current events. At the end we visited the wonderful library of Polish language books that the cultural institute houses.

 

December 8th

We participated in the 10th YachadMUN conference in Modi'in, where students discussed renewable energies, children in refugee camps, religious freedom in authoritarian regimes, and participation of non-European countries in Eurovision, trying to come up with creative solutions. We were happy to receive several awards at the closing ceremony, including an award for Sabeel in her first conference!

 

December 15th

We held the book launch for our second book: The Write Path II, hosted at America Hub Israel. We also lit candles for Hanukkah, and were joined by 30 guests from all over Israel, as well as Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the US and more countries via Zoom. Writers matter group: from October through December we held encounters on Sunday evenings via Zoom for 10 students from all over Israel, Bosnia-Herzegovina, South Africa and Turkey. Each week the students wrote prompts and shared their writing with one another. Some of their writing pieces are now published on our blog:

דיבייט לשלום- 9 מפגשים בין אוקטובר לדצמבר 2025

 

9 באוקטובר ו-12 באוקטובר

קיימנו את מפגשי סוכת שלום השנתיים שלנו, עם למעלה מ-50 משתתפים, ביניהם תלמידי תיכון ואוניברסיטאות יהודים וערבים, כמו גם מנהיגים מוסלמים ובהאים, ונציגים משגרירויות טייוואן, קזחסטן, פינלנד, קוסובו ואירלנד. התלמידים קיבלו את ההזדמנות להסביר על החג וגם לשאול שאלות, וכל המשתתפים כתבו ברכות שלום במגוון שפות לתלייה בסוכה.

 

21 באוקטובר

השתתפנו ב-TikvaMUN XII, אחד מכנסי מודל האו"ם הוותיקים ביותר בישראל, עם למעלה מ-150 תלמידים מיותר מ-15 בתי ספר ברחבי ישראל שהתחרו בחמש ועדות שדנו בבעלי חיים מהונדסים גנטית, המלחמה בתימן, הפיכות צבאיות בסאהל, רפורמה בחינוך ומשבר מלחמת העולם השלישית. לאחר יום שלם של דיונים, התלמידים הציגו את פתרונותיהם הטובים ביותר וחולקו פרסים.

 

21 בנובמבר

12 סטודנטים מכל רחבי ישראל הגיעו לתל אביב כדי להשתתף ב"סימולציית עתיד האנושות בנושא בטיחות בינה מלאכותית", שנוהלה על ידי שניים מבוגרינו, עמית ומיכאל, ואירחה במכון הרומני לתרבות בתל אביב. זה היה יום מרגש של למידה הרפתקנית עבור הסטודנטים, כאשר הם חקרו את האפשרויות והסיכונים של שימוש בבינה מלאכותית ואת השפעתה על האנושות.

 

27-30 בנובמבר

בראשונה, משלחת של 6 סטודנטים יהודים, נוצרים ומוסלמים התחרתה באוניברסיטת YaelMUN דובאי. הסטודנטים התחרו הן בוועדות מסורתיות והן בוועדות מיוחדות כמו בית החוכמה (בית אל-חכמה) שעוצב על פי מרכז הלמידה העבאסי. לאחר שלושה ימים של תחרות ברמה גבוהה, איתן ואיתמר קיבלו פרסים בטקס הסיום. למידע נוסף על המשלחת: https://debateforpeace.org/2025/12/05/debate-for-peace-delegation-to-ymun-dubai-iii/

 

29 בנובמבר

קיימנו דיון בזום עם אימאמית מהולנד, סלימה אל מוסלימה, שדנה במסעה כמנהיגה דתית פמיניסטית ומתקדמת בתוך קהילה מוסלמית אירופאית.

 

4 בדצמבר

קיימנו מפגש במכון התרבות הפולני, עם 15 סטודנטים ומורים מכל רחבי ישראל, שם דנו בתפקידו של המכון התרבותי בקידום גשרים תרבותיים, כמו גם בהיסטוריה פולנית-יהודית ובאירועים אקטואליים. בסיום ביקרנו בספרייה הנפלאה של ספרים בשפה הפולנית שמאחסן המכון התרבותי.

 

8 בדצמבר

השתתפנו בכנס YachadMUN ה-10 במודיעין, שם דנו סטודנטים באנרגיות מתחדשות, ילדים במחנות פליטים, חופש דת במשטרים אוטוריטריים והשתתפות מדינות לא אירופאיות באירוויזיון, בניסיון למצוא פתרונות יצירתיים. שמחנו לקבל מספר פרסים בטקס הסיום, כולל פרס לסביל בכנס הראשון שלה!

 

15 בדצמבר

קבוצת "כותבים חשובים": מאוקטובר עד דצמבר קיימנו מפגשים בערבי ראשון דרך זום עבור 10 תלמידים מכל רחבי ישראל, בוסניה-הרצגובינה, דרום אפריקה וטורקיה. בכל שבוע התלמידים כתבו הנחיות ושיתפו את כתיבתם זה עם זה. חלק מכתביהם פורסמו כעת בבלוג שלנו:

مناظرات من أجل السلام  - من تشرين الأول حتى كانون الأول 2025

 

9 و12 تشرين الأول

أقمنا لقاءات سُكّة شالوم السنوية، بمشاركة أكثر من 50 مشاركًا، من بينهم طلاب مدارس ثانوية وجامعات من اليهود والعرب، إلى جانب قادة مسلمين وبهائيين، وممثلين عن سفارات تايوان، كازاخستان، فنلندا، كوسوفو، وإيرلندا.
قام الطلاب بشرح معنى العيد، وطرحوا الأسئلة، كما كتب جميع المشاركين بركات للسلام بلغات متعددة لتعليقها داخل السُّكّة.

 

21 تشرين الأول

شاركنا في مؤتمر تيكفامون الثاني عشر أحد أقدم مؤتمرات نموذج الأمم المتحدة في إسرائيل، بمشاركة أكثر من 150 طالبًا من أكثر من 15 مدرسة من مختلف أنحاء البلاد. تنافس الطلاب في خمس لجان ناقشت مواضيع شملت: الحيوانات المعدّلة وراثيًا، الحرب في اليمن، الانقلابات العسكرية في منطقة الساحل، إصلاح التعليم، وأزمة حرب عالمية ثالثة. وبعد يوم كامل من المناظرات، عرض الطلاب أفضل الحلول، وتم توزيع الجوائز.

 

21 تشرين الثاني

وصل 12 طالبًا من مختلف أنحاء إسرائيل إلى تل أبيب للمشاركة في محاكاة “مستقبل الإنسانية وأمان الذكاء الاصطناعي”، التي أدارها اثنان من خرّيجينا، أميت ومايكل، واستُضيفت في المعهد الثقافي الروماني في تل أبيب. كان يومًا حافلًا بالتعلّم والمغامرة، حيث استكشف الطلاب إمكانيات استخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي ومخاطره وتأثيره على مستقبل البشرية.

 

27- 30 تشرين الثاني

للمرة الأولى، شاركت بعثة مكوّنة من 6 طلاب يهود ومسيحيين ومسلمين في مؤتمرنموذج الأمم المتحدة التابع لجامعة ييل في دبي. تنافس الطلاب في لجان تقليدية، إلى جانب لجان خاصة مثل بيت الحكمة المستوحاة من مركز التعلّم العباسي. وبعد ثلاثة أيام من المنافسة عالية المستوى، حصل إيثان وإيتامار على جوائز في الحفل الختامي.

29  تشرين الثاني

أجرينا نقاشًا عبر الزوم مع إمامة امرأة مقيمة في هولندا، سليمة المسلمة، تحدثت فيه عن مسيرتها كقائدة دينية نسوية وتقدمية داخل مجتمع مسلم أوروبي.

 

4 كانون الأول                                                                                                                                                         أقمنا لقاءً في المعهد الثقافي البولندي بمشاركة 15 طالبًا ومعلمًا من مختلف أنحاء إسرائيل. ناقشنا دور المعاهد الثقافية في بناء الجسور بين الثقافات، إضافة إلى التاريخ البولندي-اليهودي والأحداث الراهنة. وفي ختام اللقاء، زرنا مكتبة المعهد الغنية بكتب اللغة البولندية.

 

8 كانون الأول

شاركنا فيمؤتمر يَحَد نموذج الأمم المتحدة العاشر في موديعين، حيث ناقش الطلاب مواضيع مثل الطاقة المتجددة، الأطفال في مخيمات اللاجئين، الحرية الدينية في الأنظمة الاستبدادية، ومشاركة الدول غير الأوروبية في مسابقة يوروفيجن، محاولين التوصل إلى حلول إبداعية. ويسعدنا أننا حصلنا على عدة جوائز في الحفل الختامي، من بينها جائزة للطالبة سبيل في أول مؤتمر لها!

 

15 كانون الأول                                                                                                                       أقمنا حفل إطلاق كتابنا الثاني مسار الكتابة - الجزء الثاني، الذي استُضيف في مركز أمريكا هَب - إسرائيل. كما أضأنا شموع عيد الحانوكاه، وشارك في الحدث 30 ضيفًا من مختلف أنحاء إسرائيل، إضافة إلى مشاركين من النمسا، البوسنة والهرسك، الولايات المتحدة، ودول أخرى عبر الزوم.
