Tower of David Forum for Religious Leaders- January 14th, 2026

The group began with an introduction for the new participants, but Father Jose's words aroused great interest, and so we spent the entire encounter getting to know his spiritual world.

Father Jose is in Israel on behalf of the Opus Dei organization, of which he is a member. This is a movement in Catholic Christianity that claims that a person can and should be holy wherever he is – out of guiding oneself toward God and an effort to do what they do in the best way.

The belief is that God lives within us to the point where there is unity with Him, and yet without destroying us. If we live rightly, we will fulfill the role that God has assigned to us.

Rabbi Shlomo Dov noted that according to the Gra, and others, everyone has a Holy Spirit who helps them find their unique path. But it is difficult to understand it from the things that a person has in their head.

Father Jose added that there are three ways to know what God wants from us:

The Bible – the living word of God

Prayer

And from life.

We decided to continue this path for several encounters in getting to know each other in a deeper way, and each time meet the spiritual world of one of the members in a more profound way.
