Selectivizr not working with wordpress

Hi

I am having an issue with my website not picking up attributes on IE8
and below. Selectivizr is loading but the styles simply are not picked
up by IE 8.

I am really stuck here maybe I have missed something simple!

I included a plugin to test whether I had failed to include the script
properly. I have disabled this so the error below should disappear.

I believe the script is being loaded (in the footer) just not being
applied to some of the attributes. For instance on the homepage 'new
and noteworthy' thumbnails (ul.thumbnails li:nth-child(4n + 4) a) is
having the a slvzr-nth-child is being applied and the page is
displayed correctly.

have I mistaken assumed that [role="banner"] & [role="navigation"]
work with selectivizer? I have used them before without issue.

Oh dear, Modernizr was not being loaded properly.... fail.

The only times I ever get so stuck that I post on a forum is when the
answer turns out to be completely bleeding obvious.
