FB: Album- The Village Of Krishna's Older Brother (Posted Aug 23)

Today on the auspicious occasion of Balaram Purnima, I and two other devotees visited the village of Dauji in Gokula, Vrindavan. In the center of the village is a beautiful temple with an ancient deity of Dauji. Dauji is another name for Lord Balaram, meaning 'older brother.' Balarama is Krsna's older brother. The deity was originally carved and installed by Vrajranabh, Lord Krsna's great-grandson, 5,000 years ago. The people of the village were as happy to see us, as we were to see them! I took photos to share with all of you on this wonderful occasion of Lord Balaram's appearance. The altar room was quite dark, but I managed to get a few fuzzy photos of the Lord!
