Relocating central governmental functions from Jakarta to East Kalimantan is not an easy task. A major master plan design competition has been held in 2019 with over 750 registrants, 255 entries and a team of winners. The leading design is called Nagara Rimba Nusa, which means 'city/ government', 'forest' and 'islands'.  The idea goes beyond sustainability.
