Background information

“Beyond Building – Developing Indonesia through Design” by Tiyok Prasetyoadi MUD

Prasetyoadi, IAI (Tiyok) is a professional architect and urban designer. He is the founding partner and managing director of PDW (www.pdw.co.id), an award winning firm and Top 10 Indonesia Architects specializing in urban design and architecture in Jakarta. Prasetyo is one of the Core Founder of Green Building Council Indonesia (www.gbcindonesia.org) and committee members of World Green Building Council Asia Pacific Network. In GBCI, he is responsible for the Council Development and liaison with World GBC and other GBCs around the world. He is currently Director for International Relations of Green Building Council Indonesia. Prasetyo is also the Country Leader for CTBUH Indonesia since 2009. He is a professional member of IAI (Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia) and Head of Green Building Department; and also IAI representative for Architect Regional Council Asia on Green and Sustainable Architecture (ACGSA). He is also member of PIA (Planning Institute of Australia), IAP (Ikatan Ahli Perencanaan Indonesia), associate member of SIA (Singapore Institute of Architects) and LEAD (Leadership in Environment and Development) Fellow (www.lead.org). In May 2014, he is selected as architecture and city planning reviewer of Jakarta (TABG-AP; Tim Ahli Bangunan Gedung Arsitektur dan Perkotaan), appointed by the Governor of Jakarta.

In his presentation he will among others highlight the recent developments in Indonesian cities with regards to green architecture, mass rapid transportation, etc.

 

“Digitalisation in Construction” by Dr. Rizal Sebastian

Dr. Rizal Sebastian studied architecture, design and construction management in Indonesia, UK and The Netherlands. He has over 20 years of research and professional experience in complex design and construction projects using digital approach. He has initiated, led and actively contributed to more than 20 European and national research and innovation projects. His roles include being the Prime Proposer, Project and Scientific Coordinator, Principal Investigator, and Expert Reviewer.

 

In the presentation, a selection of large-scale projects on Digitalisation in Construction, which have been initiated and led by Rizal Sebastian within the European Research and Innovation Framework Programme, are discussed to inspire and encourage building practitioners to adopt digital innovation in their practice. The research topics cover:

·         Early design: Semantic Building Information Modelling (BIM) for hospitals

·         Prefabrication: 3D printing and Plug-and-Play solutions for renovation

·         On-site construction: BIM-based Augmented Reality for quality assurance

·         Facility management: IoT and Serious Gaming for sustainable user behaviours

·         Restoration: 3D time-dynamic modelling of cultural heritage

·         Smart mobility: Big Data for resilient transport infrastructures
