We were really curious about clarifying the usage of partitive articles. One confusion is that they appear much like prepositional articles, but they're not.
There is a really good distinction. You use their singular form for describing some part of something uncountable and their singular form for describing some part of something countable.
Berrei volentieri del vino: I would gladly drink some wine.
and
Ho trovato dei fichi a pocco prezzo: I found some cheap figs.
and
Vorrei delle mele, degli spinaci, e del pomodori: I'd like apples, spinach, and tomatoes.
