Would anyone be able to create a quick youtube video of how the audio.play functions work in the new release? I cannot seem to get any audio to work and a macro example or how to would be extremely helpful. I am very interested in broadcasting music to my players and getting a subscription to sandstorm if I can figure out how this works.

Hi Chris and welcome to the community. As of this time, we don't have the bandwidth to author such videos. What I can do, however, is help you through getting things done.

Maybe we can start by you telling us what you've tried so far, and what is the nature of your setup. With regard to the setup, describe the locations of your players. Are you all playing in the same place, or are they connecting to you remotely? A combination of both For remote instances, there is only one solution IIRC.

Most everything starts by associating audio to the campaign you're building. This is done using the Campaign Properties Dialog, where you'll find a tab specifically for audio. Once you associate audio this way, you can use it in the broad range of features Mote provides.

Association also amakes sure audio assets are disseminated to your players over the network, wherever they maybe, once they connect to you. Depending on your connections, and the size of the audio transfers, this process can either happen quickly or take some time. If it's the latter, you need to allot some wait time before triggering any audio that may have not reached your friends yet.

On a side note, Mote has Syrinscape integration, where you can write special macros, to trigger audio from a running instance of Syrinscape.

Thanks and hope to hear from you soon :)

Sorry, I haven't been able to find our article on Mote's audio capabilities archive from the old site. But here's a post regarding it in a changelog from the past.
