Hello all,
4 of our KLS volunteers, including me, met the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) authorities today and had a talk with them about the IDIA project. The response was indeed plausive and they co-operated us in our endeavour. They asked us to interact with the students immediately.
We could interact with the commerce students (Class - XII) only, who were about 100 in number. A pretty interactive and enthusiastic lot, who were highly interested as we discussed with them about what law is and how law as a career option would indeed be a great choice. The students barely had an idea of the stuffs that we were talking about. In fact they were ignorant of the basics as well. The majority of the class intended to join the banking sector after their graduation in commerce.
At the end of the session, every student was keen on taking the test which is scheduled to be held in a day or two.
I would like to mention that the students are not really comfortable in using English for communication purposes. Although everyone replied positively when asked if they know English well, but the observation proved otherwise.
Therefore, I am concerned whether a year's coaching would be enough for them. Apart from this, they need to be trained extensively in English for communication purposes.
I am expecting good results from this institute.

Is there any specific reason why we were not allowed to meet the science and arts students?
Anyway, as I had told you in an earlier mail, please get in touch with NLUO people and fix the timings for our visit because our visit depends on your schedule and until you have set it, there is no point in coming to ODISHA. The reason I tell you to get a schedule fixed is because we will be there this weekend and we are running short of time. We will be addressing both the colleges individually and considering that Sunday is a holiday we might not be able to hold the talks. So if we have to travel between cuttack and bbsr on Saturday kindly fix a timing so that we address both the colleges without any inconvenience and also the turn out should be large. Please do whatever you can to ensure success.
I haven't seen any participation of late by any other IDIAODISHA members other than ananya. Guys you're free to comment and give suggestion. Kindly make the most out of it.
NLUO guys: is there any reason why I haven't received any mails from you. IDIA needs people with passion and you have volunteered because if your enthusiasm. Kindly do not let us down.

Thanks Javed. I guess it was because of lack of time that we couldn't meet the other lot at KISS.
Secondly, IDIA KLS people apart from me and amartya haven't yet been added to the group. Like you said, you would add them once we have our meeting.
Third, I would get in touch with Sangeeta as soon as possible. I will check up if I have her no. In case you have it, forward me the same.
