Hello,

Nothing seemed to go wrong as I downloaded, unzipped and run the image inside Windows 7, VMware Wks 9. Only initial disappointment were the missing VMware tools, but that seems to be quite a trend in "server-side" VMs. Upon connecting to http://192.168.32.130:9443/ though, I got a "download" in Google Chrome with 6 special characters and perhaps the same characters rendered in Firefox, no web GUI. If there is a getting started document I've missed but still it does look like connecting to this address is the first step. Any ideas what could be wrong? I am on an AMD processor.

PS since it is a CentOS 6.2 I will try some of my own troubleshooting, but still...

Hi Anastasios,

Thanks for downloading and using the Intel Distribution. The issue that I see is the URL you are using. It should be “https” instead of “http”. Try using https://192.168.32.130:9443/

Thanks,

Anirudh

Elementary, my dear Watson. Yes, so far so good, a little proper warning or redirect would have been swell!
Thanks,
