I have a friend who is doing some research for my time in the IDF, this section is only part that I wrote today to Emanuele. If you want a compressed version, I will do that. Tell we what you think? I remember all, the most honorable part of my life.Burka was Baruj Bar-lev.I can send you pictures latter, not now, I changed my hard disc and have to bring in all my files and pictures....RafSamal AbrahamS Groswirt, MI 68220, yes 5 numbers only.
P.D. Rafsamal I got when I returned to Israel for the 1956 campaign, that is another story. Nobody knew my name, the called me MEXI and the Australians, Bloody Mexican.

Emauele, Emanuele, Burka was my hero, I was his 2nd. driver in case the first one got wounded or killed, he was Abraham Simantov, who latter become GIVOR ISRAEL, lost both legs, but that is another story, any way, he got another driver in his 300 Zahal (Half truck but no 300 then) and of 12 Latin American and a spaniard in my group( His name was Belity Eliau, changed to Eliau Barak, my best friend then, he become the ambassador to Colombia and made history, look him up) Any way, as we started our Battle in Uga-el hafir (Nitzana now), on the first minute of the battle his regular driver got wounded and I took over, we fought a tremendous battle and Iraqi planes would come and attack from the air. It took 3 days of intense fighting, he spoke to me in English, some time in Idish, and we took the bastion, except a fortification in top of a hill. That night, (I was barely 17 years old then) the commanders sat on a table planning the attack in the fortification, then came Gordon (Katsin techni) to replace me with a 38 year old Russian driver as Burka's driver, but Burka stoped him saying: GO AWAY, THIS BOY KNOWS NO FEAR,  and I did not, really and a excellent driver I was even if I say so. Finally we took the fortress, we captured 5 high ranking officers, 1 British, 2 Greeks and 2 Polish. I was caring 2 pistols (Mexican style, lol) and he put me in charge of guarding them (tell you more in another letter). after the battle, we moved on across the border to Egypt, my Sahal being the first one to cross the border, our machinegun spitting fire even if there where no enemies there, symbolic, paying them back after they chased our ancestors  fleeing from slavery (I will never forget that moment) and we took the road west to Cairo. (On the way we took a military camp in just an hour or less, they had Israeli prisoners, kill them all before surrendering, cut their genitals and put them in theirs mouth). then we came to a Y in the road with a sign: Cairo to the left, El Arish to the right, we all wanted to go to Cairo, but a young Comander (Moshe Dayan) was directing us to El Arish, How disappointed we where. The El Arish story I must write later if you are interested, this letter is too long now, but you made me remember it all and there are more details in Ahuya el Afir, for another time.(How we got there) You made my day my G-d bless you many times over, and all your family........MEXI  Again tears on my eyes.
p.d. Burka moved to Palos Verdes, a suburb of Los Angeles. Once I came to visit him with my 2 children
