Dear Francesco,

We have two types of activities at OW2: Projects and Initiatives.
- Projects: the deliverable of a project is code, for example, Syncope
and LemonLDAP are projects.
- Initiatives: they are joint efforts by members and non-members of OW2
to address a market segment; the deliverable of an initiative is market
outreach, this includes, for example, joint proposals, collaborative
projects, joint sessions at conferences, sharing booth at exhibitions,
etc.

At OW2, we have four initiatives [1], they address segment where we
want to be proactive: cloud, big data, IoT, Privacy and Security.

Here is the link to our "Privacy and Security initiative" [2]. Note
this initiative is in its inception phase. We have identified the need
to go there, it has been endorsed by the board: that means OW2
Management Office can work on it, promote it, support its participants,
etc. Think of it as a space which has been open but which is still
quite empty.

It seems to me there are great potential synergies between our "Privacy
and Security initiative" and the Open Source Identity Ecosystem you are
working on.

I would be happy to discuss further with you and explore how we could
work together.

That's good ! Cédric is a wise man, and an efficient one, too.

I met him many times in the past (he is in Paris), and it's always a
pleasure to work with him. Count on me if you need some direct
interaction with Cédric !

Interesting.  Perhaps we could get OW2 to join or endorse a 'security initiative'.  For evaluation of a potential partner's worthiness I always favor simple, pragmatic goals.  How do they function on a single task execution like constructing a software solution set?  Of course we have to agree philosophically as well as technically but I doubt there will be any problems there.  Finally, it is always a benefit to receive a pledge of sponsorship for some of the necessary project resources, i.e. source code repos, virtual machines, administrative services, etc.
