Yes we should definitely submit proposals.  My thoughts are we hold two events:

1. Technology Session - Open Source Identity Ecosystem Overview

Standard 45 minute talk discusses the group's mission and solution use cases.

2. Hackathon Event - Building the First Deployable Open Identity Ecosystem Deployable Solution

Combine a targeted subset of ecosystem components into a deployable, working solution onsite.  Some of the objectives can be:

a. unified user interface

b. unified data storage

c. simplified installation procedures

d. test a set of heterogeneous sample applications and systems using the solution

Hi,

I have already submitted a talk a couple of weeks ago: Comprehensive
Open Source Identity Solution
This will include introduction to the ecosystem concept. Presented from
our (Evolveum) point of view.

But more talks from different points of view may be a good thing.

I just submitted for hackathon:

The Open Identity Ecosystem is a collection of organizations, individuals and customers who align to form a marketplace. The goal is to promote adoption of common security practices using open source IAM components. This hackathon is the first working session of members to build a solution mix. Possible targets for inclusion are Apache Directory Fortress, Apache Syncope, Midpoint, CAS, Shib, OpenLDAP, etc... The objective is create a meta product, or stack, that combines the identity components into a deployable unit. Along the way, changes to contributing projects will be pushed into their respective code repos.
