The overall initiate is called Trust and Identity in Education and Research (TIER) and is currently composed of open source projects Shibboleth, Grouper, and CoManage. I know there has already been much discussion regarding possibly including midPoint or other "entity registry" products into a reference architecture.

I bring these two up as I think there are natural touch points in terms of overall vision and real potential for collaboration across initiatives/projects, but also to point out that if anyone has travel budget or looking to join these conversations there are two opportunities coming up next spring:

Bill,
We discussed at one point of having ‘premixed’ solutions, with documented setups, and ready for the integrators, for example
1. shib, midpoint, openldap
2. cas, syncope, apache dir
3. ox, openidm, opendj
Each solution mix would be comprised of (at a minimum) a directory, provisioning agent, and access management component.

Agreed, it’s a good idea as there’s still a compelling need.

AFIK it’ll be in the Fall of ’17. I’ll ask around and see what can be found out. Agree it would be ideal place to meet (we’re all there anyway) but as I said before, seems a long way off.
