Hi !

I like to know 4 things:

1)
All of my Questions are Viewed more than 10 times on average.
I dont get any answers even on very simple Questions (such as "is Idempiere Capable of REAL (online-)banking or not").

Is it because I dont pay anything yet ?

2)
I try to help other guys in the community as much as I can ,
because I think thats the key-thing to do within a Community .

Is this correct, or am I totally wrong in my assumption ?

3)
I know them "3 Laws", but does it mean it is useless to ask simple questions here ?

4) How to improve Communication inside this community ?

I hope for some answer !

Regards
Florian

We don't are a Bank specialist - we don't know about this.

All the free support depend of the free time the people.

Is Correct, if you have time, good for you.

3)

Smart question is not the same of simple questions.

4) How to improve Communication inside this community ?

Maybe we need re-take the the irc channel for the newbies

Hi Flo,

1) look at other topics, 1 answer / 10 views look in the average, nothing about you specifically I believe.
This said, I think you should give more details when you ask something. "Can Idempiere do this" is too large. Explain precisely what you want will give you more chance to get an answer.
Btw regarding your bank topic I will throw the ball back to you : do a bank allow another software like Idempiere to be interfaced anyhow with their own? I would be surprised if it would be the case but maybe I didn't got your point, as said it's a bit unclear.

2) That's how a community work yes

Hi Flo,

Coming from someone guilty of asking some fairly, in hindsight at least, 'simple questions', I can say the following:
  • Idempiere can be chalenging beginners and has a learning curve that is testing at times.
  • Idempiere can be modified by plugins to do anything. Regarding online banking, in Australia most banks accept a file called the *.aba file or Australian bankers association standard file format. I wrote a plugin to create this file from payment selection records, you may be able to do the same, there's a couple of plugins in the Idempiere available plugins that do this.
  • Carlos shared a link about asking smart questions - tech minded people are quick to dismiss questions if they seem lazily asked. Exhaust all reasonable avenues of finding out before a question is asked is not lazy. Ask smart questions and you'll be more likely to get a response.
I share your sentiment about helping others. Paying for help is a good option when you get stuck and as the mantra goes "People Are Not Free - You have to Pay !"

Hi !
I asked my father hes retired last year. He worked in a huge company where they use SAP. I pointed a finger on it and yes : Payment is completely automized there, includingly online banking. So i think it is a key thing for an ERP system such as Idempiere. Its not urgent for atm but i was just wondering maybe some api or Webservice providing at least a stub to map this task exists.
