Clarification on Trial balance Report

The trial balance Report typically shows the Opening balance,  the summary of debit/credit, and the closing balances of accounts for a given period. However, I noticed that the idempiere trial balance shows each posting entry separately and doesn't show the balance of accounts. 

Please help me to understand how to generate a proper trial balance report. Attached is a sample trial balance report from Odoo.

have a look at the financial reports in the garden world tenant (menu 'financial report').

Hi,

yes the financial reports are a good tool to achieve these kind of reports.

But, please, note that the configuration in the garden world client had some flaws for quite some time.

Chuck Boecking has published a better version in Github. If you install that, it would work in Garden World as expected, I hope.

hi,

our implementation, includes a parameter summary level:  legacy mode (detailed incl balance),  group by account (my example), summary accounts.

this is not not in the core yet, there are significant changes, including tree-level implementation and java class customization. Need interest, make design proposal idempiere way, then implementation.

the benefit against fin. report, simple run w/o any setup as is.

example: account level print format basic

example: by account, the solution using script  column for monthly calculation
