Callout script for validation

Hi Community,

We have a requirement that user can edit quantity in Order line that created from Create PO from Requisition, but it has to be validated that new quantity is not bigger than original quantity.

Could we use callout for this requirement, instead of custom plugin? How can we compare old value with a new one in callout script?
