Hi,
i'm using idempiere and i'm try to create a Customare Business Partner using webservices.
Searching on the web I found more than one page in which is talking about an example [Carlo's example... https://groups.google.com/d/msg/idempiere/ARed5z4wf08/SUQ5Yzq2pLwJ ] without any link.
Does anyone have any idea how to properly configure the web service and the procedure for the creation of business partners?
Or someone has the link of the example to follow?

Thank you in advance!

F.

Thank you for your response.
Now I'm trying to create a payment and tie it to a previously order created and in payment waiting.
I've created a create paymente web service and to web serivce action request:
- prepare payment;
- process payment.

When i try to prepare payment i'll have "Cannot save before set docAction: Mandatory: Bank Account" and when i try to process payment i'll have "Error: : Mandatory: Bank Account".

But in the c_payment table in db, the c_bankaccount_id is populated [ similarly to correct payments].

Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you

Ladies/Gentlemen

I have a farm in uganda, growing crops like cassava, passion fruit and maize and also rear animals like pigs, goats, cattle(beef and Dairy), poultry and bees.

How can I implement Idempiere ERP to automate my activities . How can I configure
Idempiere ERP to suit my needs. Is there a manual for that? Is there a plugin for farm records?

I will be very grateful if I am assisted.

Hi Tom,

Your questions are very broad, you need to specify to what operation on your business that you need to automate by Idempiere ERP.
Idempiere itself consist of a lot of modules, you can start look here http://www.adempiere.com/Features, since idempiere is a adempiere it should similiar.

Rgds,
Rinto

I am very grateful for your response.
I am very much interested in automating field activities/operations. For example managing and recording the cost for raising cows and growing crops from sowing, weeding fertilizers application to harvesting .

I think what you need are Report Views, not activity automation because there is no such thing to do activity for you. Reporting views will extract current activity records with joined related info to show your operations to decide. In short, ERP application is a DSS (Decision Support System). What do you think?

It is true that ERP application is a DSS (Decision Support System). I will definitely need the reporting views. Who can help me to create the views that need?

Hi Tom,
since iDempiere is based on the concept of a Data Dictionary it is highly customizable. You can basically do whatever you want. E.g. a scheduled process could trigger some network attached sprinklers. Webservices can be used to track your machinery on the field if you have some kind of device which is sending the gps position to idempiere and with custom reports you can see where your money goes.

However, all this is not available out of the box and you have to put a lot of effort into the system to get everything you desire. I recommend you to take a look at the iDempiere wiki, read some sample code (e.g. the plugins in the marketplace), take a look at the ADempiere 3.4 and 3.6 Books and think about a concrete goal you want to achieve. Start with small goals and if you need help, visit the irc but remember that the people there don't receive payments so you may have to wait a little bit for an answer. Also you can ask your questions here.

Regards
Jan

Hi,

You can manage farms with projects...Jan Thielemann has beging changes to projects that can help in manage farms..(not directly)

For example, a project will be a camp..or fruit, or vegetal parcel.. to this project you can asign costs,  invoices, register expenses and so on...maybe be can asign recurses too (like tracktors hours) and expend materials (like water, fertilizer, etc)...but this is not considerer jet...may be Jan can has this in mind when work in projects..

What do you think Jan???

Thanx very much Jan for your advice. What is IRC(irc) in full and what help can they give me? Since there many farmers over the world, I am appealing to idempiere developers to customise idempiere to suit  needs of farmers especially those in developing countries and give the product freely to them. I am willing to provide requirements specifications for such a product.
