Hello everybody!

I am glad to join the group.  I have been following Idempiere for a couple of years now :)

I would like to know where I could find an Idempiere user manual or any technical documentation to completely understand the data flow and the configuration in order to use the ERP.

Anybody could help?  appreciated guys.

Thanks
Allan from Singapore

Dear Allan,

For my part I also like to work with the books mentioned there from Pact Publishing
a)ADempiere 3.4 (User-Guide)
b) ADempiere 3.6 (Customization).
Both books have longer titles but you'll find them.

Additionally if you have some time and invest little money, many in this community will advise you to learn with Chuck Boeckings ERPAcademy. Just today I looked for some information on how to create a balance sheet and a really nice and well structured video I found was by Chuck.

Another good source for many technical aspects, I would like to mention, are the video- and text-tutorials in the Wiki by Jan Tielemann. But these are some sources. Actually there are many other sources e.g. by Red1 and some of the companies supporting the system.

Best regards and wishing you a good start with iDempiere

Dear Frank,

Thank you for the information.  Yes, I will definitely check all the resources that you have mentioned above.

Actually, I spend 16 years implementing/Supporting QAD ERP.  But Idempiere is a bit different so I would like to take my time and learn the technical and functional aspects of it.

Thanks again,

Warm regards,
Allan

Hi Allan,

Besides all the material mentioned by Frank-J, you can check the playlist on the official youtube channel of small functional video tutorials.

The list right now has some nice videos contributed by Phil Barnett, hopefully the list will keep growing with contributions from different community members.

Kind Regards,
Diego Ruiz

Dear Allan,

I forgot a piece of documentation that I am working on. I have found models and diagramms always helpful to understand an IT-system:

Following this link, you will find some diagramms which depict mayor components and interrelationships of iDempiere from different perspectives.
I will be happy if you have a look on these and later would tell me, whether some of them helped you or if you have advice for enhancements.

Best regards
Frank

Hello Frank-J !

A little off-topic ---
but heres my strong advise:

join the ERP-Academy driven by Chuck Boecking -- hes a fantastic teacher .
Its 199 $ / Month and WORTH EVERY PENNY DEFINITELY . My learning-curve was good.

Regards
Florian
