Hi,

I need to hide the Warehouse field on the login panel (a customer don't use those feature).
I think i will proceed like for the role ; add a Sysconfig key ("ALogin_ShowOneWarehouse") and show the warehouse list only if more than one is available.

Should i do it with centralized id as it could it be integrated in main release ?

Regards,

Nicolas

for filling fields with default value (like for org).

It's bettet to setup such default value in role/user's context I think.

In fact, i just want to hide this list as it's not used by a customer.
And the default value for warehouse could be determined with the werahouse linked to the selected organization.

sorry, I hijack your topic. I just feel bad to see warehouse selection during login (and date selection also)

Agree Nicolas, sounds like centralized ID is fine.

This can be configurable per org, so it can change when the user selects
a different client or org.

I think other two candidates for configurable login behavior are:

ALogin_ShowOneOrg - configurable per client

ALogin_AllowChangeDate - configurable per client (this was requested by
one of our customers long time ago and we solved with preferences
validator, but this sounds more reasonable)

Perhaps date could also be hidden.

I never try to change it. Does it change anything ?

Another sysconfig key ?

WDYT ?

Ken, that's a good point, on login screen there are two fields that define security (client/role) and three that define defaults (org/wh/date) - I have felt that people don't get it easily on trainings - so sounds like a possible usability problem here - maybe can be more understandable if we rename those fields? -> Default Org, Default Warehouse, Default Date

Carlos Ruiz

Very interesting..
So final solution will be to be possible  to hidden on different level :
- system
- client
- role
- user

all in the same system ?

For example on the same system (server) :

Client  A   Disable warehouse and date
Client  B   Role Admin   enable
                Role User     disable
Client C   only User  Operatore disable
(user can be managed as a specific role ) (system can be managed to copy client setup )

Marco

I also have the same thought as Ken. But i think the new Role bypass altogether, making it a much smarter login than we had before in ADempiere.
