Fieldtype for Record ID Selection

hi,

i'm looking for plugin extending fieldtype RecordID  or custom fieldtype. feautures are:

A. zoom to record (working now)
B. allow select record based on ad_table_id. (opening small form or search - like locator selector)

ATM ad_table_id/record_id is populated 100% programatically, i would like enter manually - on any use case when this solution used.

Hi Norbert, that sounds possible, maybe worthy for core.

Record_ID are normally defined as button and works like a zoom.

Could be that when defined as Search the class that manages that case is extended to show the info window of the AD_Table_ID in the same record.
