Hi Experts,

I'm new at iDempiere and beginning by creating Organizations for a new client: I have defined 3 organizations: A, B, C, with warehouses and locators.
I defined also an Organization D, with "summart usage" checked in order to set this org. D as parent in organizations A, B & C. I assumed the org. D would be the start of the branch and would summary the entities from org. A, B and C.

Issue: I can't set org D as a parent for org. A, B & C.
Questions:
1. Is it normal? Did I miss a setup?
2. How many orgs with "Summary Level" = Yes can I set for a single client?
3. Could you give some info on the way it should work?

Thanks for your feed-back!
Benoit

Hi Benoit,

Below is an image of a more probable or real-world GardenWorld organization scenario. The problem with what come out of the box in iDempiere is that there is no way to perform a global consolidation. Said another way. there is no summary folder/record that holds all transactional orgs. Each organization with a triangle or arrow next to it is flagged as a 'Summary' org. I achieved the below structure by dragging one organization (summary or non-summary) into a summary organization. The one thing you should watch for is when you drag and drop, sometimes the dialog that pops up (asking if you want to "move into" or "move after") is not always obvious. Sometimes it is offset by a few inches.

I have a video demonstrating this process in the erp-academy.chuckboecking.com if you are interested in signing up. Here is the specific page (Organization Tree Structure and Global Summary Consolidation).

I hope this helps!!

Hi Chuck,

Thanks a lot for these hints, it worked with drag & drop + Move Into.

Best regards,
Benoit
