Dear Friends,

happy Holidays.

I see that the Window named: Budget Control is not active in http://demo.idempiere.com.

How can I  use the budget accounting to restrict the use of expenditures, commitments (Purchase Orders) and reservations (Requisitions).

Thanks in advance.

Fernando

Hi Fernando, budget control was never implemented, it was hidden with
IDEMPIERE-362 Hide things that don't work on iDempiere

Thanks Carlos.

How to know if there is something running or testing about budget in idempiere..?

Is there some workflow to test it..??

Do you recommend me something to test it or implement  it..?

Regards.

Hi Fernando,

Try doing the following:
  1. Create a GL Journal with a posting type of Budget. Note you can create multiple GL Budgets if needed.
  2. Update your Financial Reports to include a budget and/or budget difference columns. Note that the GardenWorld Income Statement Financial Report has an example of this scenario.
Here is a typical process:
  1. You can create your budgeting process in XLS
  2. Export your XLS and import into iDempiere's GL Journal Import. Perform this step for each period needed.
  3. Post your budgets for the given time periods.
If you need to later manipulate your budget, you can:
  • Reactive the appropriate budget GL Journal, modify and re-complete
  • Or, Import and post an offsetting entry.
The same process can be use for forecasting. All you need to is create multiple GL Budget record for each budget and/or forecast (best case, worst case, etc..)

I hope this helps!
