Barcode as Save & New Record

Hi , 

After i read a product with barcode scanner I would like t go to new record  without touching the keyboard but "just" read a special Barcode ( ALT+A) that means Save and go to new record 

PRODUCT QTY   WAREHHOUSE    ETC

_________   ______  __________    _______

Normal case  : Enter the product with barcode scanner than  change qty , than change the warehouse and so on... at the end Press  ALT+A   to go to new record : OK 

"Special" case  : When everything is ok   i just need to go to new record after reading the product without "touching the keyboard .

ALT+A  is not ( as i know ) printable   ( I'm waiting for a DATALOGIC that seems have a special language that could manage things like this .. i hope ) 

other solution ?  ... Change Hardcoded Shortcut keys to something Printable ?

Hi Marco,

we use Zebra-scanner here and they can be configured widely to send the characters you want. I didn't examine you case exactly, but I'm sure they can send ALT+A. You can for example configure them, to send special codes only when detecting a certain barcode type. So by this way you should be able to generate a barcode which doesn't interfere with you commonly used codes and then can be configured to send ALT+A.

At least the LS1203, which is one of the cheapest zebra, supports this feature
