call local websocket service from webui client

Hi,

we are evaluating the solution https://github.com/johnlauer/serial-port-json-server. 

Looks this is opportunity how we can print from webui client to local printer (instead e.g. remote printing to printers trough firewalls)

Use case: User is logged in to Webui click to "print" button then browser will call a local server which has websocket communication.

My question is: can we make Websocket call from Webuil Login ?

It was my very first Compiere project in 2004 done from Java Client to serial port: http://compiere.red1.org/POSred.zip
I think the simple approach can work, at least in my case, i hacked into the 'Complete' action button to just simply issue an output to that port.
Today i think it will be a fragment to the Web UI plugin or some IFactory already there to implement UI behaviour.

you can use javascript to make web socket call so that should be possible.

we also need this function.
In the zk forum are posts with code samples.
Print documents without show the content
They hide the content and they hide the print dialog.
