After developing on my laptop for a while, I dumped db from local postgres and restored it to a server in the same lan. (my ip: 192.168.2.10, server's ip: 192.168.2.24, postgre 12)

I'm using version 8.2, I've tried the new realease-9 version, but still the same.

I have no idea how to solve that. is there someting i missed? or this a bug?
anyone else meet this problem?
or any suggestion?

A Couple of things, it's going to be a little slower network transfer rates and latency introduced. but from your comment i am going to presume it's just single user.
WiFi is ... well let's go with SUB-optimal. if you are wired it should be usable.
spec's and performance of the server/laptop... i am guessing you split them over performance issues with both running on the same computer...
also SSD vs Spinnny disk amount of ram... so much information missing to really give you a truly meaningful answer.

maybe try https://www.postgresql.org/docs/10/pgbench.html run from the laptop and from the server computer to see if it's network issue...

Best of luck.

Thanks for reply.
I'm very sure it's not network transfer problem, i tested with different WiFi. I tested db with db connection tool, the db works fine, no obvious lag.
and i even test with another application connected the same db,  still work fine.

After tried things above, i think the problem is caused by idem itself.
If it's true, it's a critical bug, can anyone reproduce this issue to prove that is for all or only for me?

By the way, it looks like that it occurs after version 8.2.

Hi Haient,

Version 8.2 was out there as stable version for one year, is still widely used, I have several production servers using 8.2, and there must be probably thousands of installations out there running it.

So, with that in mind, I would suggest you to consider you have specific problems and focus on that.
- are you using the latest released 8.2 - or one of the old versions?
- do you have customizations?  Review them for performance and locks
- DB tuning?
- careful review of idempiere and postgresql logs to search for potential clues

And, last but not least, if you want a better support from forums, consider moving to the currently maintained version, release-9

Regards,

Carlos Ruiz

I run several instances where application server is separated from database server, no issues at all, so this is definitely your local issue
