iDempiere on zk7 ready for community tests

Hi community, since december Heng Sin have been working on upgrading the infrastructure of iDempiere, mainly to upgrade to zk7, but he also achieved to upgrade tomcat to 7.0.35 and support eclipse kepler (4.3) as well as other things that you can check on detail if interested at

The work is basically ready, some extra updates are pending, but in order to start community tests I configured jenkins to compile this branch:

http://ci.idempiere.org/job/iDempiere-zk7/

And also, in a server borrowed from Thomas Bayen we installed a test server:

https://demo.idempiere-erp.org/webui/

It is important to notice that zk7 broke backward compatibility for the themes created for zk6.

We'll appreciate your feedback and tests, please report any issues at these forums or if you're confident enough about a bug found please open a JIRA ticket.

Is it only for development branch??

Users with idempiere 2.0 can update to zk7?   How can we do that?

Can I update idempiere 2.0 to development  and later to zk7..??

This is my test:

Using the latest mozzila firefox, I find that size of print preview becomes small on sales order transaction, then i change another template and suddenly print preview becomes bigger adopt the size of browser.
And then trying another transaction (Invoice), the print preview becomes small too.

Please let me answer the three posts related in one:

@Max, at this moment zk7 and development branch are synchronized, and we plan to keep it that way for some time until stabilizing and documenting the impact on themes.

You can use zk7 as development if you want to migrate there, please consider zk7 in the same status as development, is beta.

@Ken, yes, we think zk7 will be integrated to development branch as r3.

We also have some pending library upgrades, and we want to move this branch to jdk7 for development and enable to be ran with jdk8.

Any help is appreciated with those tasks.

Also we need to review/document the impact on themes before moving to r3.

Hi Carlos,

When I try to update with:

sh update.sh http://ci.idempiere.org/job/iDempiere-zk7/ws/buckminster.output/org.adempiere.server_2.0.0-eclipse.feature/site.p2

Appear an error: Dependences failed.... or meybe this is not compatible with update script?

Yes Max, with update.sh is how I'm upgrading the zk7 demo server.

I always take a backup of /opt/idempiere-server before running update.sh - sometimes the update.sh fails leaving the system in a bad state that can't manage further updates, in those cases I restore the backup and try again.
