Intergration with SAP

Hello Community,

I have to integrate/communicate with SAP system from Idempiere for my project. Does anyone guidelines/recommendation to connect with SAP? It would be helpful if anyone shares his/her past experience for community. Thanks in Advance.

What is iDempiere's role in this relationship? Here are some thoughts:

• Is iDempiere used as a the accounting engine for a subsidiary that will roll up into a parent company using SAP?
• What information needs to be exposed to SAP and how often?
• What information does SAP have that needs to be shared with iDempiere?
• Does the SAP instance have a separate data warehouse that can be used for ETL?

A decent numbers of my installations report to other systems (Infor, Oracle, etc...). The situation is different in every circumstance. Some use iDempiere for just operations (no accounting) and all accounting is periodically uploaded into Oracle, others simply sync financial data.

Hello to everyone. In my experience i recomend do not integrate directly to the bd of sap . Always use webservice or midle db. Other thing is the version of sap if it is by design or business one or all in one, it's going to be diferent integration for each flavor of sap.

The other thing is what chuck says about the idempiere role in the relationship.
