Planing to deploy a german iDempiere server

Hello together,

we plan to deploy a server(a server in our network) to install an iDempiere version for the german maybe EU community. Interested parties can login and test the German version and get familiar with this version. Some bugs, issues, decisions and configurations can be documented in the wiki. So it is easy to add, present, and discuss new German/Eu plugins in a practical way. Configurations can be transfered to local installations. This helps to find much faster possible solutions for the basic needs in Germany (like the accounting) or maybe in Europe (reverse charge or weee as example). We think it is also a good way to find and develop good solutions in a centralized and open way.

But this makes only sense, if you want to participate and cultivate this server. We are absolutely open how we can manage this server in an open way with you.

We are not a developer company, we are a wholsaler specialised in lighting products and we started as user of iDempiere but learned a lot about Idempiere during the initial migration phase.
With the help of grandmaster RED 1 giving us free view even to very special features of idempiere, we developed in two years some features .

Today we want to contribute and share our experiences to give more active life in the german community.


Functions like Metal Charge for cable selling technical wholesalers or a Cable drum management module and functions adapted to german accounting laws are possible to share with you.

thank you Marco for your reply. I'm very glad that you helping us to configure the european definitions.

The basic machine is installed.
Now I go through the idempiere setup and to configure the server secure without to prevent the user can work with all functions.
The next step is to undo user changes after logout.

Has anyone tips for me, a best practice to secure a idempiere demo installation and to make changes undo after the user is logged out?
Is there a howto?

Hi Patric, try looking at org.compiere.util.Trx.rollback(). It could work well in FitNesse testing except AD_PInstance, which is not trxName tagged, and probably Doc Sequence No which commits.
Using a plugin we can try obtaining trxnames in play during user login session, then during Logout event, rollback such trxnames.
Just a wild idea.

We have a local italian wiki server for specific italian args that i could translate (for specific needs)

i think you can't provide a pure environment for multi user per one server

thinking two user login to System and change some configuration or window it will affect each other.

maybe development a function, help user can easy create a new client have full data of gardenword.

Yes, I think a wiki page is very important to document all the ideas and solutions.
So we can start from a european page with all the european topics and a alphabetical List to the country pages with more specific topics for the selected country.
