iDempiere meaning

Hi,
maybe you'll consider this as a silly question but I'm wonder where comes the "i" leter of the name iDempiere. I know the meaning of Compiere and ADempiere is from Italy. Is the "i" from last letter OSGi to denote this underlying technology?

yes, that's the original idea. The i comes from OSGi.
