If more people are interested to share their requirements and give references on how they are using it and what they are using it for, i may think about migrating this to iDempiere.

Hello together,

We use alfresco for storing vendor invoices and customer invoices.

Vendor invoives are scanned with ocr job (abbyy tool) .

Full text search engine of alfresco allow to find the documents.

I addition we use virtual column to link alfresco document to adempiere record.

Hans

Ps: would be great if integration of alfresco become part of idempiere.

I like to learn more. Are there any limitations that you find using Alfresco? What ideas will be good during integration to iDempiere? What would be your pain/wish lists?

I See no real limitstions. Of course it would be nice to run ocr without the additional abbyy tool, but for our purpose it is ok. Disadvantage here is that this is no open source. I think there are tools avsilable, but I hadn't enough time to evaluate.

At the moment we use simple "ftp" protocol to insert data. Better option would be to use cmis.

In general we found that the "folder" structure of alfresco should not be too flat, because the rendering time could be to long,if you select the data via folder structure.

On my wishlist is the seamless integration of all business partners from idempiere to alfresco. That means that each of them has his own area within alfresco.

Regards
Hans

Hans,
FTP is good as work with all OS. Alfresco CMIS protocol works on windows only. Configuring on Mac is very hard and not working as expected.
