Hi,
another Problem with IDESERV Version 0.29f.
At last in use the Version 0.27B an it shows me all filenames correct in MAN. The new version 0.29f shows me not the correct filenames. Must i install a other driver?
I see in the ZIP File some Binarys. Are this the Solution? What are the different because the binarys InpOutBinaries and InpOutBinaries_1200 ???

Best regards

Hi!
You should be more descriptive in your questions.
What mode of PCLink connection do you use?
InpOut driver is used with PC parallel port interfacing in X15xx or PC64 mode.
Could you please provide us the example of incorrect filenames of the 0.29f version?
Josef

Not directly. In version 0.27b the filenames have a clean cut by 16 letters. The space from two words are filled with other letters and unsorteted.

There is a filename shorting algorithm, that was introduced after 0.27b for very long names as I remember,so this is not a bug. Also the shortenen filenames in pclink have different alphabetic order of course.

When it is not a bug, why inplemented that?

Consider a multiple filenames or directory which has a long name like first 16 characters "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOP" and you have more like these in the drirectory that ends with different character example you have "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOP123", "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOP1234" "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOP12345".In versions pre 0.29b you would see via PClink the files only with first 16 characters multiple times and you would be able to access only the first one in the directory, because if you try to access the other ones which will have same name,it will allways point to the first one in the directory.

Hi,
i don't understand this logic! i testet some different for example foldernames (see screenshots). Sorry, but i don't see the logic because the inplementated algorythmen????
ok, when you have a lone file-/foldername the first two letters are ok and then you see the last entrys in the file-/foldername.
Thats not a good solution :-(((

for example see the foldertest in screenshots "this is a test a little bit longer"! the manager shows that "thsTstLttlBtLngr" ??? Thats bad :-(

Don't do SPACES in the name ! The SPACES will alter the algorithm of course !

Here is an example how it works, nothing difficult to understand.

Hi!
IDEserv 0.29f is in beta state. So that new feature have a time to settle and there is still a space for improving.
Do you have an idea how to improve the algorithm to satisfy your needs?
