Hey folks,

I have an IDE64 v4.1 board running firmware 0.90 -- is relative file support broken in this version, or only in the 0.91 beta? I'd like to run an IMAGE BBS off the thing, but some of the parts of that system requires REL support.

Thanks!

Ah, nevermind -- worked out the problem.

Hi! Could you please tell us more about the BBS solution.
Are there any limitations?
Idedos V0.90 has REL support fully implemented.

Well, the root problem was how man deals with REL files -- I'd get "FILE TYPE MISMATCH" on the source 1541-II drive every time I tried to copy them to the IDE64. Finally got it to copy using Copy All instead.

As for the BBS, turns out it only has support for Commodore modems, which naturally I don't have. So I'm trying again with IMAGE 3.0. I'll let you know what happens.

All of the Image BBS' work with TCPSER or BBS Server, since you are using real hardware you would need a Null Modem cable with pin 6 removed and BBS Server on a PC to act as a modem. Then just choose Hayes compatible as the modem. If you have a X-Pander type expansion to use more then one cartridge in the port then you can hook up a Swiftlink and use that with the cable.. Unfortunately, other then a RS232 to Null modem cable via the user port OR a Xpander type of cartridge to allow for 2 or more Cartridges is the only way to go about it. Either that or run it in Emulation with CMD or Lt Kernal support in Vice.. Just a side note, Image uses lower memory locations, which I believe conflict with the IDE64...
