the past 3 days I've been getting a pop up message on the top of my work space shortly after I save a file for the first time. It's happened with already started files and completely new ones. It only ever shows maybe a minute or so after saving for the first time. I tried save with a different name as the messages says, restarting illustrator and restarting my mac but its still happening. Today Illustrator froze and I had to force quit and the document recovery option didn't even pop up when relaunched like it usually does after a crash/force quit. I looked and all of the data recovery options are checked in preferences.
I have also started getting these notices on every Illustrator file. Large and small, new and old, it doesn't seem to matter. Although, I must say that I have never had much luck with CC recovery feature anyway, so I just mannually save every 5-10 minutes.
My Seagate hard disk has stopped showing up in file explorer on PC but still shows in device manager. I have recently been setting up some PS2 roms on there and thought my system had been corrupted and all my data lost. However my external still works fine on my laptop.

For the second half of the fix, I wrote a couple of Javascript functions to parse the JSON data in the collated file and extract only the row data for each table that had sync data. Possible Solution - Was able to remove the HDD from the WD caddy and plug the into an old generic plug and play caddy (where you connect the sata power + data) and plug into my PC via USB.
I recently used a data recovery software, Minitool Power Data Recovery, to recover my data from a raw partition drive, drive E. Along with my original files, an additional folder is obtained called "Raw Files" which has in itself sub folders named Adobe PDF file, MKV Video, PNG image, etc. I cannot access any PDF or image files in these folders. Some images which are accessible does not seem to belong to my original data and are repeated. Are there things part of my original data which has corrupted?
They are the results of carving. The tool you used most likely performs both directory tree reconstruction and carving as an additional attempt to recover most data. Quoting from this answer of mine:

Those were indeed the files in the vault. After restoring the full file structure with a deep scan, I was able to copy the contents to a formatted Sandisk USB drive and I was able to recover all the data.
