I try to copy the .ipa and drag it but it just doesn't appear? When I copy the file, click on the edit button in the menu bar, all the options are greyed out even though I had copied the .ipa? Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
This no longer works in iOS15 and the latest itunes. Although it will copy your app over, on your iphone it starts installing then says "must be installed from app store." If the app is no longer there in the store, it will not install and the app will be useless (Showing with the cloud download button, which won't work).
I installed an iOS app (.ipa file) on my iPad using iTunes for PC (with Windows 10 21H2).The iPad's UDID is listed in Apple Developer Console list of devices. So it is a Developer test ipa for a test device.I've connected the iPad to the PC after iTunes was started and was able to install the ipa by dragging it to iTunes and dropping it on the left lower "On my Device" pane.I started iTunes after the iPad was connected to the PC and was able to install the ipa by dragging it to iTunes and dropping it on the left lower "Devices" pane.

Neither drag-and-drop or right-click paste worked for me.But Ctrl-V worked. Copy the .ipa file (normal Ctrl+C) from File Explorer, go to iTunes on the device's page, Paste with Ctrl+V and the app start to install.
Hello. I have a third-generation iPad with iOS 9.3.5, and I tried the method of copying and pasting the Atari Greatest Hits app to be able to use it with the accessory that was sold, however, the app appears on the home screen, but it is "installed" up to an average of 1/4 of the download, or even 1/2, but it goes up to that point and soon after the app stops installing and soon after disappears from the home screen. Does anyone know what the reason for the conflict might be? I really need this app.
This problem has only arisen recently, but iTunes refuses to download anything new. I have an apple music subscription, and downloads still work on my phone. Whenever I try to download a new song, or heck, even play a new song, nothing happens. Eventually I get the error "There was a problem downloading (song name). The network connection was reset". On the very rare occasion I can download one single song, but the problem is I'm trying to download a bunch of songs. Multiple albums in fact. I have been googling for weeks a solution to this problem, and every single response from apples team of "experts" boils down to "check if your device is connected to the internet". Gee, I hadn't thought of that! How about you guys actually make yourselves useful and provide some actual tech support. My grandmother would know to check if the internet is connected, so do not try to play games with me.
This problem has persisted for weeks so I have shut my computer off multiple times, not just restarted. Like I said I have rebooted my router. Clock and region are set correctly, no VPN, no antivirus other than Windows Defender, which I shut off and still no luck. Safe mode doesn't even let me attempt to download songs, I reset the cache, I shut off simultaneous downloads.
Reboot your router. Power off your computer and turn back on again rather than just restarting it. Check that your system clock and region are set correctly. Do you have any VPN software or third party anti-virus package? It may help to temporarily disable either of these. Press and hold down shift+ctrl when starting iTunes to open it in safe mode. Use Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Reset Cache. When downloading click the activity widget at the top right of the iTunes window and turn off the option for simultaneous downloads. Any improvement?
iTunes says computer not authorized. When I try to authorize computer it says it is already authorized but will not play song. Note. Library was moved from PC to MAC. I am signed in to Itunes with the Apple ID created on the old computer which is different than the Apple ID used to set up the MAC.
Note: I am using only one iTunes account, and I double checked the song info - I'm authorizing the correct account - 12 songs from the same album purchased at the same time play fine. As does the song in question - from the finder. Only iTunes stubbornly refuses to play it.
I have the same problem. All my purchased Music works but not any Shows. It keeps saying authorize this computer even though it already is. SERIOUSLY spent MONTHS working on this with Apple Tech and iTunes Tech and the Genius Bar and they could never resolve it. So every Video file bought does not work.
I found out that I had somehow created two accounts, and one had become compromised. I called Apple support, and they cheerfully fixed the problem. There was no charge involved; I guess support is free for purchased music not playing.
I did the same steps that mikuk did, except I was also able to find and delete my "/Users/Shared/SC info" directory. I still have the problem. An interesting fact, I have this problem on just two out of 3510 purchased tracks in my iTunes library. The two tracks are from separate albums. All of the other tracks on those albums are playable and can be downloaded to my iPod.
Ok, so I downloaded an album from my google drives( that isn't available on apple music) and transferred it to itunes on a desktop; no problem. But when I tried to sync the music from my itunes on the computer to my iphone, it doesn't show up. I've restarted my phone, to no avail. I tried to sync but it still doesn't work, Help anybody?
Do you have a subscription to Apple Music? If so you would typically add content to your iCloud Music Library rather than syncing with iTunes. See About iCloud Music Library icons and status - Apple Support to see if the content you've added to the library has been matched or uploaded.
In iTunes put the library into the Songs view then see About iCloud Music Library icons and status - Apple Support and turn on the iCloud Download and iCloud status columns. Those columns will tell you whether the tracks are matched or uploaded, in which case they should work everywhere, or if they are waiting to upload or if there is some other issue. Once we know what the problem is we can discuss solutions.
Did you look at the link in my post? Have the tracks of this album been matched (unlikely) or uploaded yet? Once uploaded they should appear in the library on the device to stream or download. Perhaps you need to use File > Library > Update iCloud Music Library.
If you're using iCloud Music Library with Apple Music or iTunes Match then the second image is what you should expect to see. All the content in your iCloud Music Library becomes available to you in each library or device where iCloud Music Library is enabled except for items that have failed to match or upload, so, once again, if you want to work out what the problem is with the tracks that don't work on your device look at the status columns.
You should also step back out of the Downloaded Music section so you can see what is in the cloud. Once you can see everything you can use the cloud icons to download content you want to be available when you are offline or to avoid data charges when you're not on Wi-Fi.
i did. And i updated my itunes on desktop. The icloud status is showing up now but it says 'error' for the downloaded songs, and per your link i updated the library, and its not working. Might have to import the entire album again.
Ok so I deleted the original copy because of the error,= and re-downloaded it, only now i can't see it in my library at all. It simply doesn't appear in my recently added or downloads, What should I do?
The Automatically Add to iTunes folder can be found inside the iTunes Media folder. If for some reason iTunes doesn't like the files they will be moved into a Not Added folder. Typical causes might be corrupt files or mismatching file extension, e.g. mp3 files with a .m4a file extension.
OK, back to the iCloud Status column in the Songs view. What does it say? Don't remove anything from the library this time, just let me know if it says matched, uploaded, error, ineligible, waiting, or something else?
You mentioned something about compressed files. If you've downloaded a .zip file that contains music files you need to make copies outside of the zip folder which you can add to the library. You can copy to the Automatically Add to iTunes folder inside your media folder, typically C:\Users\\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Automatically Add to iTunes, where you can then see if the tracks are added, or moved to Not Added if there is a problem with them.
