Hello ^^A lot of people are using combinations of different add-ons in order to get a more realistic environment.I'm using FS Global 2010, REX 2004 and Ground Environment Pro myself. From what I understand, Ultimate Terrain is an add-on that modifies the ground textures, right? Also, it's split in series, one for Europe, the USA, Canada etc. Would I get more realistic environments by adding Ultimate Terrain? And if so, I can combine it with Ground Environment Pro to cover the regions not included?Thanks for your opinions :)
Ultimate Terrain isn't actually textures (as I understand it), it just places towns, roads, railways etc in the correct spot on the globe. Towns and cities are now their correct shape instead of being a generic blob of houses, and the night lighting is much improved as well, so major roads stand out much more than a suburban street.I use all the Ultimate Terrain packages, GEPro2 for the textures (so yes, you can use both without hurting each other) and REX2004 to get the skies looking purty (driven by ASV6.5).If you're serious about giving FS9 a facelift, try Zinertek's Ultimate Water Advanced and Airport Environment. They're both relatively cheap (around US$10 IIRC), the water one has my favourite water textures, and the Airport one replaces all the default airport textures with much better looking buildings, towers, etc. It also does runway markings and textures, but I still use REX for that.Cheers, SLuggy
Oh :(That sounds like a very interesting addition. Basically it become possible to fly just by recognizing a highway and follow it from one town to another using GA aircraft? That would be really sweet ^^ *looking for youtube videos starring UT*

I do a lot of VFR fltying in GA singles around where I live. It is almost 100% accurate with UT USA following land marks, rivers, coastlines, lakes, roads, railroads, etc to what I know around me and off of the VFR charts I use to fly. I would def get UT if interested and get a laptop next to you to load charts.
@jerryuscg: It looks like a very useful program indeed. I like the Google Earth aspect of it :D Something worth bookmarking to check out again in a while. Those airport maps are also really something I'd like to have :( Currently I fly a lot with the Wilco Airbus A319 trying to master it, especially the FMGC/AP stuff ^^" It's just a shame its ability to fly STAR/SID is no good with the stock ATC. Having those charts now won't help. I know about Radar Contact, but don't want to add something with a steep learning curve before I master that Airbus of mine :(@red1: After seeing a few videos and screenshots I'm very tempted to get Ultimate Terrain :)
Yay \(:(\)I got Ultimate Terrain Europe as a starter.Looks nice with all the extra roads and railways from one city to the other :(Also, when flying in my region, I get to see more urban areas whereas before it was only agricultural grounds ^^"However, I've the impression it takes longer to load sharp textures. Without UT Europe, textures were very sharp just by flying over them at FL240 with an Airbus, while now I get a more blurry texture when even flying over an area in a Cessna. Textures only get very detailed after I hit pause and wait a few seconds.Any idea how I could improve texture loading? I've increased the AGP Aparture Size to 512MB (Geforce 6600GT 128MB) and kept the modified fs9.cfg I had before installing UT Europe, giving me fantastic graphics at acceptable framerate (25fps)I've the impression UT adds extra layers on the base texture for the roads, streams, railroads etc? Am I correct?
