Just realize that no one got this mail. Our google group (id09ss@googlegroups) may not work anymore.
Basaically, Siam picked our design (both stages) and we needed to submit technical drawing and more detail. The due date is April 22.
Today I discussed with other people in the class. For the catwalk, Ple is now doing the technical drawing. Once completed, P' Tong will add more detail about material/lighting/electricity (already got a conclusion in the class) and P'X will prepare BOQ.
However, there are some comments about the exhibition area. The main issue is that they want it a bit more see-through whick mean design change so i havn't started technical drawing on this item yet. Any idea?

เมื่อต้นเทอม มีความเข้าใจไม่ตรงกันในวิชานี้ (ธีม: Hybrid ซึ่งเป็น trend ใหม่ของการออกแบบ และ 9 ซึ่งเป็นรุ่นของนักศึกษา) ว่าเป็นงานเดี่ยว จากการที่ผมได้กล่าวไว้แต่แรกว่า ผมคาดหวังจะเห็นงานดราฟ (ประกอบด้วย 1 Floor Plan (layout, top view), 2 Elevation/Section on paper in scale 1:50 and some Details in scale 1:20) จากนักศึกษาทุกคน แต่สิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นคือนักศึกษาบางท่านได้ drop หรือไม่เข้าเรียน และหลายคนเห็นไม่ตรงกันกับตารางเวลาและแนวทางที่ผมกำหนด ทำให้ 7 อาทิตย์ให้หลัง ผมได้รับเพีบง concept design จากนักศึกษาเพียง 5 คน(3 งานจาก ID-SS และ 2 งานจาก ID-MT) จากจำนวนนักศึกษาเกือบ 50 คน ทำให้ผมตัดสินใจร่วมกับนักศึกษาที่จะปรับงานของวิชานี้ให้เป็นงานกลุ่ม
Conclusion
1. สำหรับ ID-SS, ตามที่ตกลงกันเมื่อวาน นักศึกษาจะรวมเป็น 1 กลุ่มเพื่อทำงานร่วมกัน และ ID-MT จะแบ่งเป็น 2 กลุ่ม
2. ให้นักศึกษา focus ที่งานออกแบบ ตัวผู้สอนจะทำการหาวิธีประเมินที่เหมาะสมให้แต่ละบุคคลแม้ว่าจะเป็นงานกลุ่มก็ตาม นักศึกษาพึงตระหนักและแสดงศักยภาพในการออกแบบอย่างสร้างสรรค์ ทำงานอย่างเป็นระบบ และจัดสรรเวลาอย่างเหมาะสม
3. ทำการออกแบบ 2 เวที สำหรับแฟชันโชว์และนิทรรศการ
เวทีแฟชันโชว์ สามารถทำการปรับแต่งโครงสร้างหลักของเวทีได้เพียงล็กน้อย (การออกแบบจึงเน้นที่การตกแต่ง backstage อาทิ การใช้ Logo hybrid 9, จัดแสง, ตกแต่งฉาก, ออกแบบงานกราฟฟิค และอื่นๆ) เนื่องจากทางสยามจะจัดหาเวที พรม และเก้าอี้ไว้ให้อยู่แล้ว การจัดทำเวทีจึงต้องขึ้นอยู่กับอุปการณ์ที่ทางสยามมีให้ ผมได้โทรศัพท์คุยกับคุณก่อ และขอให้ช่วยแสดงรายการอุปกรณ์ที่เราสามารถยืมจากทางสยาม เพื่อที่เราจะได้รู้ถึงข้อจำกัดในการออกแบบ
เวทีนิทรรศการ การออกแบบให้คำนึงถึงความเป็นจริง โดยเฉพาะเรื่องงบประมาณ และการใช้ของที่เรามีอยู่แล้วอย่างเช่นขาตั้งบอร์ด (ผมไม่เห็นด้วยที่จะใช้ของเก่าที่เราใช้ในนิทรรศการครั้งก่อนเนื่องจากงานดูขาดความคิดสร้างสรรค์ทั้งยังจำกัดด้วยงบประมาณ) ด้วยงบประมาณที่จำกัด ผมเชื่อว่าเราสามารถที่จะออกแบบนิทรรศการที่สามารถผลิตได้จริง ง่ายต่อการติดตั้งและรื้อถอนในเวลาอันสั้น (1 คืน ก่อนนิทรรศการเริ่มและหลังนิทรรศการจบ) และนั้นก็ตรงกับธีมของนิทรรศการครั้งนี้ ซึ่งก็คือ hybrid สัมพันธภาพของความแตกต่าง, sustainable การอยู่อย่างพอเพียงและยั่งยืน, conceptual ความคิดและจินตนาการ

Dear all,
I reply back to the mail received from the student Nitas Polachai with agreement about the conclusion got after a nice conversation in the class yesterday. I really appreciate that you send the details written in both Thai and English with the same content... otherwise I can't understand it and be helpful... ;-)
Before sending you the reply I called P' Kor to review directly the same understanding online and confirm that both of us agree on your content. Finally we can say that the content of your mail is correct but I update it after our conversation by phone.
At the beginnings of the current semester there were some misunderstandings on the Thesis subject concerning a concept design considering the theme (Hybrid as the new trend in design and the number 9 that means the generation of students) for both fashion show and exhibition design as individual assignment. As I requested I expected to receive a work, at least a draft composed of 1 Floor Plan (layout, top view), 2 Elevation/Section on paper in scale 1:50 and some Details in scale 1:20 from each student, but happened that cause of some students drop even if they are still enrolled, some students didn't attend the classes and some students disagree with teacher' syllabus and guidelines, I received with delay after 7 weeks individual concept design (first, not definitive yet) only from 5 students, precisely 3 from ID-SS and 2 from ID-MT and the sum of the students is almost 50. So I decided with agreement of the students that the project is a GROUP assignment.

Yes, for ID-SS class, as agreed yesterday students will form only 1 group, and for ID-MT class still 2 groups, so 2 concept designs (I hope so, let see what happens tomorrow);

Do not worry about the evaluation, grade and score of each individual students.That is the concern of the teacher (me). Right! For student, please focus on the design. The teacher will find the way to evaluate and give the grade to each student. For a while students should be glad and to work on a project that will be realized to exhibit their works and show all their potentialities in creativity, in managing the process design and in organizing the work following the time line.

There are 2 stages to be designed: one for fashion show and the other one for exhibition. For fashion show in Siam Discovery the design should be light intervention focusing on the backstage only as box ornamented and decorated by the students with logo (Hybrid 9), lighting, wall covering, graphic design, etc. because Siam Discovery can provide stage, red carpet and maybe the chairs or the seats for the visitors and guests in available size and number and recycle of the Siam Center's materials, tools and equipment: for that when I was at the phone with P' Kor I asked him to send us a detailed list of materials that we could borrow from Siam Center, so we can figure out and realize our limited design – I hope so! - For exhibition design the design in Siam Center it should be realistic, it means affordable – considering the budget and the reuse of the C.I.D.I. stands that can be useful... again... (I do not agree to reuse some of our stuff that audience and faithful people of C.I.D.I. community already saw it at the time of last exhibition: we really look poor in creativity first and then in budget – even if it is real that budget is low: “come on! we look cheap and stingy!”); it should be producible in terms of easy to build-in and build-down in short time – one night only before and after the week of the exhibition – and it should be hybrid, sustainable and conceptual.

All the drafts of the designs came out from both the classes will be delivered to Roberto/Teaching staff/CIDI office/Committee to pick only one design for implementing as it happens for a competition in all over the world. Please, do the best in presentation of the first draft of every concept because I asked P' Kor to invite at least one person of the Siam company involved in decision to be member of the jury for the choice in audience during the lesson in Thesis subject – I hope so!

CIDI office is responsible for implementing both stages. The selected design might be adjusted by CIDI due to constraints like budget, technical problems, etc.

The students are not responsible for stage implementation, but will get involved after the stages have been finished. The task will focus on setting up the exhibition and putting additional decoration.

เนื่องจากมีความเข้าใจไม่ตรงกันในวิชา Exhibition design วันนี้ก็เลยมีการคุยกับโรแบโต้อีกครั้ง ข้อสรุปตามข้างล่างนะครับ ในเมล์ฉบับบนี้มีโรแบโต้กับพี่ก่อรวมอยู่ด้วย รบกวนทั้งสองคนช่วยรีวิวและคอนเฟิร์มด้วย ว่าข้อสรุปที่เขียนมาถูกต้อง
ข้อสรุป
1. วิชานี้เป็นงานกลุ่ม สำหรับ ID-SS ตกลงกันว่ามีกลุ่มเดียว เท่าที่เข้าใจ ตอนนี้ ID-MT ก็ทำเป็นกลุ่มกันไปแล้ว
