Senior SAP ABAP Developer with EHP8 upgrade:
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the project technical lead, the Senior SAP ABAP developer will provide expertise for the technical analysis, design, development testing and delivery of FRICEW related objects for the SAP ECC, SRM, CRM and other ABAP based solutions that are part of the upgrade project.
The consultant will be expected to deliver technical documents and obtain sign off from customer(s) where relevant.
Specifically, the Senior SAP ABAP Technical developer will assume the following functions:
- Supporting the team responsible for the SAP EHP8 upgrade and related systems upgrade in the areas of Finance (AR/AP/GL, FM, GM, Treasury etc), Supply Chain (SD/MM/LE) and HCM, and manage technical related service requests to meet the project needs; Develop and test FRICEW objects as per the specified standards;
- Work collaboratively with customers and Umoja team members, both functional and technical, when necessary to gather technical requirements and produce technical specification documents thereof;
- Perform development, debugging and unit testing of existing FRICEW objects functionality and resolve application systems integration and linkage issues.
- Supports analyzing any defects/issues raised, applying OSS notes, supporting any issues with FRICEW, identified gaps and provide solution(s), translate it to technical efforts and resolution.
- Deliver on time relative to the deadlines, and communicate status updates, incidents, production changes to work orders, etc to project technical lead against project milestones, including escalation if there are delays or any issues so requiring;Education: Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Work Experience: A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in implementing SAP ABAP systems. Specifically experience in:
- Over 10 years of experience developing in ABAP;
- Strong ABAP with SAP ECC, SRM, and CRM;
- Extensive ABAP development experience – ABAP Workbench, Enhancements and Modifications, Report Programming, Authorizations, Interfaces, Workflow, Performance Tuning, experience in SAP ABAP web dynpro application, experience with transaction development (Dynpro/module pool), batch data conversion (BDC online/batch/session), Adobe PDF-Based Print forms using Adobe Lifecycle Designer, FPM, LSMW, Variant Configuration, SAP code/ background job debugging, user (function exits and subroutine exits), ALE, IDOC, report painter, BAPI, BADI, match codes/search help etc.
- Experience in three or more areas of Finance (AR/AP/GL, FM, GM, Treasury, PS etc), Supply Chain (SD/MM/LE/RE) and HCM is required
- Experience in SAP ECC EHP8 upgrade project is required
- Experience in program/SQL optimizations for HANA DB is desirable
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all team members.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Languages:
English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For these positions, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
Expected Duration:
Initially 1 year.
