Job Description:
- The HIMCO Application Developer will work closely with technology and investment professionals to ensure that their dynamic information and automation needs are met.
- This is an opportunity for an individual with a passion for understanding business problems and developing creative solutions on business-critical systems.
- The Developer will work on one or more assignments at a time under general guidance of a Senior Developer.
- The successful candidate must be able to work with several different tools and technologies.
- Much of the systems development will require an understanding of object-oriented design.
- This position requires an individual that has strong software development and communications skills
Your responsibilities will include
- Develop and maintain a solid working knowledge of the investment industry and business processes. Participate on assignments and projects, clarifying business requirements, performing application development and modification activities, as we ll as related maintenance and support.
- Participate in planning sessions with clients, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements. Engage in client interaction.
- Develop applications or perform application maintenance per written technical specifications with general supervision from Senior Developers.
- Assist with the translation of business and technical requirements into application modules. # Utilize programming languages and software technology, fully understanding and applying disciplined software development processes.
- Develop or modify software application modules using disciplined software development processes. Assist with the development or modification of software application modules, following instructions, and using disciplined software development processes.
- Apply quality assurance principles and processes, ensure application meets needs of client and business, and test and implement application modules that have been developed or modified. Provide ongoing maintenance of applications or tools.
- Handle support issues within area of expertise.
