Hi

I have installed ICY as I have multiples images to process and I wanted to use the protocol editor to have the process automated.
But when I click on the blue arrows, and drag it to another one nothing happens, the link is not created.
I have tried and all the plugin I want to use work but I can't use the protocol editor.

ICY is running under fedora 18 x64 with java-1.7.0.19-openjdk.

Do you know where the problem might come from?

Hi,

I don't have a linux box to try around, let alone an openjdk. But perhaps I can still try to diagnose with a bit of help:
 - can you give me the version of Icy, Protocols, and Protocols SDK?
 - when you start dragging, does the mouse cursor change to another icon that looks like you're dragging something?
 - just before dropping, i.e., when you hover a target arrow of different (incorrect) type (e.g. drag a sequence on a number or vice-versa), does the hovered arrow change color to red (with a tooltip indicating that the type is incorrect)?

Since this is very UI-centric, I strongly believe this has to do with the openjdk, which handles the graphical toolkit differently to Sun's (or Oracle for that matter). But having more details would sure help me figure things out...

thanks for your input.

Alexandre

Hi

Thanks for the quick update.

about the versions:
Icy - 1.3.6.0
Protocol - 1.5.7.0
Protocol SDK - 4.2.9.2

When I start dragging the mouse change it's cursor to a rectangle with a arrow in a square underneath (couldn't take a screenshot while pressing the mouse) but wherever I place it the icon doesn't change.

I will install sun/oracle's java 1.6 so see if it is resolved.

Anyhow will you be at the "Icy club" tomorow?

Quick update:

Running ICY with sun/oracle java 1.6.0_45 hasn't resolved my problem so far.

Hmm,

That's rather strange indeed.
I'll be at the Icy club tomorrow, so I guess the best would be for you to "bring over" your problem on a laptop. Then we'll update this thread for interested readers as we go forward.
