Hi Icy-team,

I would like to run large-scale segmentation and tracking computations on our cloud system at UZH. For this, I would like to better understand how Icy's batch mode works and whether it is able to handle big (>100GB) 3D images coming off of SPIM microscopes.

I would appreciate if you could point me to some tutorials regarding SPIM data processing using Icy in batch mode and/or share your experience regarding this large-scale image processing.

Many thanks in advance,

Hi Omer,

Icy batch mode works with Protocol and currently there is no real solution to process big 3D images. The "Importer" interface allow you to fetch image data at specific Z position without loading all the dataset at once but that is not a very nice solution when it comes to process 3D data (you probably want to pick data anywhere in the 3D volume).
We are currently working to address these big data problem, we hope that we will be able to provide a nice solution soon !

Best,

- Stephane
