Hi,
I have a request to improve the plugins view of the icy website. It turns out that many plugins have one (or several) publication(s). I believe that researcher working on building plugins would be more motivated to build a plugin for icy if their publications were more visible. I though that a panel could be added to the plugins page in order to make obvious that a particular plugin has a related publication (see attached image). The idea would be to provide a link(s) and title(s) of such publication(s). What do you think? Is it feasible?
Thanks,

Ricard

This is cool !

I was exactly thinking about this problem as some people 'forget' to cite papers or cite Icy instead of the plugin (at the moment it happends with my own plugin so I will not complain but still, this is an issue !)

Let me do it right now !

Best,

Fabrice

Done !

Tell me if you like it. You can see it here: http://icy.bioimageanalysis.org/plugin/Spot_Detector
I use the publication link list available in the backoffice of the plugins.

My problem is that the full reference link (with authors, title, journal name, year) would be too big for this area. I will also change the icon that is a bit bulky.

That's great! Thanks a lot for this.

I also compacted the reference to the paper, otherwise it becomes extremely long. Something like this fits beautifully:

I have a couple of comments on the same topic, and I'd like to know your impressions:

1. You can only add/remove links to the publications, but you cannot edit them. Is it done in purpose? I may like to modify the description or the link if I make a typo instead of erasing it and introducing it again.

2. I really like the new way of displaying the publications on the plugins page. I was wondering if you have an idea how to handle several publications. It seems to me that the text of several publications appear too packed. Have you thought how to make it more readable? Like, bullet points, or an icon per publication.

Thanks a lot
Cheers,

Ricard
