Hello,
I have a stack of images from tomography by X-Ray, in fact its a reconstruction of a cylindrical sample of wood.
The images in the stack are taken by the top view (circle).

I want to see inside the sample and get an image (rectangular).

I know how get a 3D reconstruction and make a cut to see inside the sample.

But is it possile to recover the image (rectangle) of the cut? and keep the resolution?

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Hi Annabelle,

I would like to help you, but I don't understand the kind of cut you are performing... Is that a z-slice ? Maybe a little screenshot could help ?

Best,

Fabrice

Hi Fabrice, it's what I have

It's possible to have one face and save it? with a good resolution?

Hi Annabelle,

You are using the 3D view, if you siwtich back to 2D, you will be able to navigate in Z and see the exact slice you want.
Then you can go in sequence and extract current Z to a new sequence.

If the axis is not the proper one, you can rotate the whole stack by 90° using the plugin stack rotation. (just type stack or rotation in the search bar at the top of the app to find and install it.)

I think you will obtain what you wish through this process !
