(Probably this is a very naive question, but) I'm trying to download Icy in ubuntu and a .exe file is downloaded with this link. From my understanding this is a  format for Windows, and from -previous post in this forum- I can see other people refers to a .sh version available.

My question is, if there is a problem within the link or do I need to use Wine to work with Icy in Ubuntu? I'm strongly suspecting I'm omitting something very simple since with  the previous Linux versions also .exe files are downloaded.

Ok, I am not an expert on Linux, but I think I can help. On the ICY folder there is a icy file (not the icy.exe) . Right click this file then go to properties and then permissions. Allow the file to be executed as a program. Now you can click the file to open the program.
Best wishes,
