Hi, I am using a high end computer 64Bits, 64gb of RAM space and ecc ecc.
Q.1 - When I do spot tracking, most of the times ICy seems to be blocked at the spot detection stage, why? can I improve the speed of detection?
Q.2 - Also my track lengths for single particle (using threshold 2 at 50% or 80%) are sometimes incomplete, can this be improved?
Thank you for help
Francis

Hello Francis,

The speed of the spot detection depends a lot of the image size and the detection parameter.
Large image with large scale detection are longer to process, also you should verify you have a 64 bits java installed so you can effectively use the whole memory on your system.
To improve the tracking you may need to improve the detection (by increasing the sensitivity) or maybe try to play with the advanced particle tracking plugin parameters so you can help him in building the complete track (for instance by increasing the number of consecutive virtual detection).

Best,

- Stephane

Hi Francis,

Another factor that may slow down the spot detection step is the export to Excel. If you don’t need it, you can uncheck the Excel export options in the “output” panel.

Hope this helps,
Alexandre

Hi Stephane and Alexandre,

Thank you very much for your suggestions. I will try and adopt it. However I am having a major issue with Track display.
When I do object identification and trajectory (track) evolution, I get results which open in the track manager (which is cool), however multiple tracks are present and it is virtually impossible to do quality control for one track- at a time. Is there some plugins or key points that I may be missing to enable me visualize only one track at a time? ( the track highlighting does not resolve my problem) Also The intensity graphs for the tracks are really good, but wouold be best if I can visualize intensities of one-track-at-a-TIME.

Thanks for your help
best Francis
