Dear ICTPA members, I wanted to report back on our 2018 Spring Banquet and Annual Membership Meeting on March 1, 2018. Thirty-three of us had a fantastic evening that was highlighted by a very personal, touching story by our featured speaker, Trinity Nguyen. Trinity wove so many life lessons into her story from childhood through the many stages in her professional career, I will try to note just a few here:
- Give back to the community
- “Family" includes coworkers - we spend so much time with them
- Have the capacity to forgive; don’t blacklist or hold others back
- Everyone needs to feel appreciated
- Find a mentor, or be a mentor (Gary’s note: WTS and APA have local mentorship programs)
- Humility - we are never too high up to go back to the basics

Trinity also has kindly provided a follow-up document with specific transportation opportunities for students, professionals, and companies, that I have attached.

I also wanted to thank those who provided input during our membership portion. If you haven’t yet responded, please would you do so now? The questions asked were:
1) What kinds of events would you like to see?
2) When would you like to participate? (lunch, evening, weekend, etc)
3) Would you be interested in presenting to ICTPA?
So far we have heard a good mix of answers, which is great. Your Northern California Chapter board is already working on putting together more events for you, including a student-oriented event at UC Berkeley and a seminar in the South Bay.
Please also let us know if you are able to host an event at your office, or are interested in presenting to your peers.

To reach us, you can e-mail us at ictp...@gmail.com
Watch out for new events at our website: https://ictpanorcal.wordpress.com
