The 2011 Annual Conference of the International Network for Postgraduate Students in the Area of ICT4D (IPID) will be held 12-13 September at Universit�� della svizzera italiana, Lugano, Switzerland. An affiliate non-profit organisation, Seed, has offered between 2 and 5 bursaries (depending on each individual case) for students from developing and least developed countries to attend the symposium. The requirements are that applicants be citizens of any of these countries, and registered in universities in any of these countries. Applicants are advised to consult the United Nations Human Development Report 2010 to check if their country qualifies (least, low, medium and high development nations qualify, but not very high development).
Three kinds of bursaries are available:
� Full bursary: covers flights, accommodation, and registration (which includes meals)
� Partial bursary: may cover either accommodation and registration, or flights
� Contributory bursary: covers registration (which includes meals)

The 2011 Annual Conference of the International Network for Postgraduate Students in the Area of ICT4D (IPID) will be held 12 - 13 September at Università della svizzera italiana (USI), Lugano, Switzerland. This symposium will grant postgraduate researchers the opportunity to present their work to a diverse audience, and gain positive and valuable experience. It is also an opportunity for young scientists to network and engage with international scholars in ICT4D.
Call for papers
Postgraduates are invited to submit a two-page PDF document that briefly describes your research work. You are not limited in the structure of this document. It is however important that your work reflects practical and theoretical dynamics in the field of ICT for development (ICT4D).
If more than 30 papers are received, parallel sessions will be foreseen. It is envisaged that there will be 8-10 themed discussions on aspects of ICT4D research practice.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Being multidisciplinary
Combining theory and practice
Working in partnership
Developing a research question
Methodology in ICT4D
Developing a theoretical framework

Deadline
For submission: 31 May 2011
You will be notified of acceptance by 31 July 2011. If your paper is accepted, you will be asked to present your research work at the symposium.
