DAI is currently implementing a horticulture value chain project in
Timor Leste, Dezenvolve Agricultura Comunitaria (DAC). DAC recently
conducted a survey of vendors in local markets to determine the local
supply of vegetables in Dili. In order to synthesize and use this
information, DAI seeks expressions of interest from firms or
consultants for design of a database for the anlaysis of this
information and train DAI local staff on its use. Fluency in English
and Tetum is a requirement.

The DAC market survey collected data from 266 vendors about 41
different vegetables in 5 local markets in Dili. The information
gathered includes prices of vegetables, vendor inventories, vegetable
sources and miscellaneous demographic data on vendors. DAC seeks the
design of a database that will allow for storage and manipulation of
data to display, for example, quantities, determine district sources,
calculate average profits, and display listings of vegetables and
quantities produced by districts.

In addition to the development of the database, DAC requires training
on its functions and uses for approximately 20 local staff. The
training must be completed in Tetum.

Interested firms should submit introductory materials, along with
history of implementation in database development and training.
Submissions accepted through June 8, 2012 EDT.
