Position      :       SQL DBA

Location     :       Boca Raton, FL 

Duration     :       3 month contract

Rate :  $40/hr on C2C

MUST HAVES

7-10 years DBA experience

5+ years Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008

Experience designing, tuning, and recovering application databases. 

Strong experience sizing, and administering large enterprise-level databases in a clustered environment required. 

Windows Operating System

PLUSSES

Experience with Microsoft customer support to troubleshoot technical issues strongly preferred 

TSQL, Stored Procedures, and Triggers

Role:

Supports application development teams by recognizing and evaluating database issues and implementing solutions.

Installs, configures, upgrades, and maintains all database systems. 

Diagnose and troubleshoot OS components that may impact SQL Server availability, such as memory, CPU, disk space, security, etc.

Support active/active and active/passive clusters. Manage cluster resources and troubleshoot errors. 

Create and maintain standby databases and/or log-shipping. Participate in planning and execution of recovery activities. 

Ensures database reliability and performance. 

Develops and coordinates project plans. 

Strong knowledge of SQL Server database administration best practices required. 

Comprehensive knowledge of database technologies

Fundamental knowledge of operating systems and system development. 

Strong written and communication skills.
