The Microsoft Innovative Teachers Forum is a competition that recognises
teachers who are using technology in creative ways to promote teaching and
learning. The Innovation Workshops are designed to help teachers who are
already using computers with their learners to plan and implement an
engaging project (which could then be entered into the competition).
Teachers do not have to attend a workshop to enter the competition - but in
the past teachers have reported really enjoying the workshops and that they
found them very useful for generating ideas and the opportunity to network
with other creative teachers.
The Durban Innovation Workshop will take place as follows:
Venue: Chelsea Preparatory, 30 Chelsea Drive, Durban North
Dates: Saturday 14 March (8:30am - 4pm) and Sunday 15 March (8:30am - 4pm)
Facilitator: Peter de Lisle (One of the Innovative Teachers Awards Winners -
2008)
The workshop is free for participants, and teas and meals will be served on
both days.
If you would like to attend the workshop please send your name and contact
details to Fasiga at <mailto:fas...@schoolnet.org.za>
fas...@schoolnet.org.za or phone her on 011 403 5777 to book your place.
Kindly reply by Friday 6 March.
Remember - even if you are unable to attend the workshop, you can still
enter the Microsoft Innovative Teachers Forum. There is more information
about how to do this in the attached flier or you can visit the website at

These workshops are happening in other centres too. There's one in East
London and Port Elizabeth this weekend. The one in PE will be held at Girls
Collegiate Junior. I'm not sure about the venue for the one in East London.
